Here we go, first entry of my journal, I added this feature to my website to add some dynamism I guess and some context for my albums. As I made this website after I already have several albums and pictures, some of them don’t really have any context.  like the picture underneath taken in Amsterdam, I don’t know why but during that trip I wasn’t in the mood for photography, it wasn’t my first time in Amsterdam at all, I had been there at least 13 times already, yes 13. Why so often? I wanted to move there at a certain point, I fell in love with this city that looked almost fake in my eyes how beautiful it was, I also love the fact that you could see how dynamic this city is with everyone busy riding bikes left and right going fast to where they’re heading, I found that most people had a pretty high quality of life, I asked many people this question how they were enjoying living in this city, not a single person told me they didn’t like it, I also asked taxi driver or barristers. Another aspect that I like about this city is the size, it feels like the right size to me, only 900k inhabitants.  I also realised that everytime I went to this city it was during the May-September window, during the which every european city seems so amazing because of the decent weather and laid back atmoshpere (besides in Scandinavia, you’ll still freeze of cold in the middle of august). So I went to Amsterdam in the middle of March one time, it was defintely different, really cold, also realised how cold the people are. I think this city is amazing in the warm months but very hard to live in winter, it rains almost everyday (without exagerating) also the real estate is completely out of contronl, just like in every european capital probably, but Amsterdam has a set of central rings made of canals making the heart of this city, so if you go further than those rings you are suddenly in a very different city, as a tourist I venture in those areas, but probably living there I wouldn’t behave the same, just as in Rome I do not like spending time in the busy touristic areas filled with airbnbs and slow people taking pictures of every wall. After that the pandemic happened and I completely gave up the idea since, but who knows what the future holds.
